Our Houses
Our school house system is named after four of planet Earth’s famous oceans.
Arctic House Atlantic House Indian House Pacific House
Green Red Yellow Blue
Our house system is designed to:
- Encourage and praise appropriate social behaviour and behaviour for learning.
- Discourage inappropriate behaviour.
- Foster a spirit of ‘team’ and working together.
- Inspire and motivate students to aim higher.
The house point system enables all members of staff to give house points to children who have demonstrated high expectations of work and behaviour. Children are given ‘1 house point’ counter for excellent behaviour, excellent effort, or excellent work, which corresponds to the house they are in. They put their house point counter in the corresponding house jar.
At the end of the week the Year Six House Captains will come round and collect all the house point counters for the week, and add them to the clear house point tubes that are on display for all to see.
Each half term, the total number of points will be calculated by the House Captains and a winning house will be declared. The winning House can then look forward to a special treat, such as: a movie session, a special PE event, a theatrical show etc.
