Year One have been learning all about toys this half term. In Literacy we have designed our own robots and have thought carefully about what our robot might be able to do and who it would be suitable for. We then created posters with lots of interesting descriptive language to try to 'advertise' our robots. We recently went on a bear hunt of a different kind and found a missing teddy bear. We are learning the story 'Where's My Teddy?' by Jez Alborough and we will be using this to help to write our own lost toy stories. In History we have been learning about the different toys that were played with in the past and have carried out research to find out about the toys our friends and families loved when they were young. We are really looking forward to our upcoming visit to Hove Museum where we will be able to play with real toys from the past!
